“…I’m Still Alive…”

Flashback to October 2009.  I went my first ever Austin City Limits Festival.  For a girl who came of age in the 90’s, the list of performers was a dream come true!  The Beastie Boys, Dave Matthews, The B-52’s, and last but not least, one of my all-time favorite bands, Pearl Jam!  I still distinctly remember singing along to “Alive”, “Better Man”, and “Yellow Ledbetter” to name a few in my rainboots with my husband and friends while standing in Zilker Park.  That ACL was memorable not only because of the music but also because it will historically be known as the first and last ACL Mudfest.

Even if you had to Google “Pearl Jam?”, I imagine that we all have a common experience of our first live concert or in my case, first live ACL Fest.  And the experience never gets old, whether it’s your first concert, or your 50th.  Each one is a barrage on the senses – the pulsing surge of the crowd moving to the beat, the dazzling lights that reflect in the faces of the fans, the roar of thousands as the band strikes the first chords of the signature song.  The sensory overload could keep you disoriented… except for the music.  The music anchors us in the familiar, grounds us in our anticipation of the next song, and the next.  The music is powerful – it’s what brought us together and it’s what we’ll carry with us when we leave, humming our favorite parts for days afterward.

That’s how I feel about real estate.  Whether it’s your first home or your fifth, or even the latest addition to a growing real estate portfolio, the experience of buying and selling homes is exhilarating, but there’s a rhythm to it that can seem disorienting if you aren’t familiar with it, like a new band with an eclectic sound.  In my role as your personal guide, I promise that you’ll have the VIP experience of a lifetime, build lasting memories, and achieve your goals for yourself, and those you care about.

As this month’s Item of Value, we are giving you the chance to win a pair of 3-day weekend passes to ACL Music Festival this fall.  Whether it’s your first concert or you’re a raving fan, ACL will ignite your senses and allow you to celebrate (along with nearly 450,000 of your closest friends) what makes our city legendary.  Register at www.HindsiteAustin.com for the opportunity to be part of the sights and sounds of this iconic Austin music tradition!

It’s a good life!
